《Tennessee》米国、アパラチア山脈に源を発し、オハイオ川に合流する川。全長1050キロ。1933年に始まったTVA（テネシー渓谷開発公社）の事業によって多くのダムが建設された。

テネシー州（テネシーしゅう、英: State of Tennessee [tɛnᵻˈsiː] (
音声ファイル)、略号: TN[1][2], Tenn.[1][2][3]、チェロキー語: ᏔᎾᏏ, ラテン文字転写: tanasi[注 1]）は、アメリカ合衆国南部の州[2][3]。合衆国50州の中で陸地面積では第36位、人口では第16位でもある。南北戦争では南部連合側に属し、シャイロー、ナッシュビル、マーフリーズボロなどが戦場となった。
