英語 National Institute of Standards and Technology
アメリカ連邦標準・技術局。アメリカ商務省の下部組織で、国家的な計量、標準行政を推進している政府機関である。連邦政府機闘が調達する品目の試験方法などについての、国家的規格の制定や試験所の認定、および産業界の新技術の実用化推進などを担当している。

国立標準技術研究所（こくりつひょうじゅんぎじゅつけんきゅうしょ、National Institute of Standards and Technology、NIST）は、アメリカ合衆国の国立の計量標準研究所であり、アメリカ合衆国商務省配下の技術部門であり非監督（non-regulatory）機関である。1901年から1988年までは国立標準局 (National Bureau of Standards、NBS) と称していた。その公式任務は次の通り[1]。
