- ^ ヤン・ホンダ[11]はヒンドゥー教のトリムルティというコンセプトは、アグニという1柱の神の持つ3つの性格についての古代の宇宙論的な、儀式的な思索から発展したのではないかとしている。アグニは3度、あるいは3倍誕生し、3倍の光であり、3つの体と3つの地位を持つとされている[12]（アグニは火であり光であり日である）。一般的なトリムルティとされるブラフマー、ヴィシュヌ、シヴァの他には古代や中世の文献には「インドラ、ヴィシュヌ、ブラフマナスパティ」や、「アグニ、インドラ、スーリヤ」、「アグニ、ヴァーユ、アーディティヤ」、「マハーラクシュミー、マハーサラスヴァティ、マハーカーリー」等といった組み合わせが見られる[9][10]。
