.eduとは、インターネット上で利用されるgTLD（一般ドメイン）のうち、主に米国の高等教育機関向けに用意されているドメインである。
.eduは、米国教育省が公認している認定機関からの認可を受けることで登録資格を持つことができる。.eduはもっぱら米国内の教育団体によって利用されており、他の国では国別トップレベルドメインが利用されている場合が多い。例えば日本ではED.JPドメイン、AC.JPドメインなどが教育機関向けに用意されている。
.eduはgTLDの中でも、「.gov」などと同じく最初期に用意された7つのドメインのうちの1つである。2001年以降、米国のNPOであるEDUCAUSEが登録管理を行っている。

.edu（エデュ、ドットエデュ）とは、スポンサー付きトップレベルドメイン(sTLD)の一つである。「教育」を意味する英語 education に由来し、教育機関に割り当てられることを意図している。2001年以降、このドメインへの新規登録者はアメリカ合衆国に所在する高等教育機関に限定されている。それ以前は米国外や教育機関以外の組織にも割り当てられており、既得権として2001年以降も剥奪されずに保持されている。
