紋章院

紋章院（もんしょういん、英: College of Arms 又は Heralds' College）は、紋章及び系譜を管理・統括し、イングランド、ウェールズ及び北アイルランドの国民に新たな紋章を授与するほか、国王や王家の典礼を司る英国王直属の機関である[2]。紋章院は、イギリス国王から紋章に関する権限を委任された紋章の権威である職業紋章官から成る法人であり、イングランド王リチャード3世からの1484年3月2日付の特許状により設立された[3]。
