眼窩前頭皮質

眼窩前頭皮質（がんかぜんとうひしつ、英: Orbitofrontal cortex, OFC）は、ヒトの脳にある連合皮質の領域の一部で、意思決定などの認知処理に関わっているとされている。眼窩前頭皮質という名称は、この領域が前頭葉の中でも、眼窩の上にあることから付けられた。この領域は、視床の背内側部にある、内側の巨大細胞核から投射を受ける領域として定義されている[1]。眼窩前頭皮質は非常に個体差が大きいことが、ヒトおよび、非ヒト霊長類 (non-human primate) の研究において確かめられている。この領域が情動や報酬系において役割を持っていることから、眼窩前頭皮質を大脳辺縁系の一部とする研究者も存在する。
