根管治療

根管治療（こんかんちりょう, 英:Root canal treatment）は、炎症や感染を起こした歯髄のための治療手法で、痛んだ歯髄を除去して根管を入念に消毒し、将来的な感染を防ぐため根管に詰め物をする治療法のこと[1]。感染根管治療または歯内療法(endodontic therapy)とも呼ばれる。歯内療法学の一分野であり、歯内療法学は歯科保存学のひとつである。

- ^ ファイルとは、根管まで届く細長い針状の手術道具で「リーマー」とも呼ばれる。右の挿絵だと持ち手が青色で描かれた器具。
- ^ 唾液等による細菌感染を防いだり、器具の誤飲などを防ぐため、治療する歯以外の口腔部を覆うゴム製カバーのこと[10]。
- ^ ステップバック法で根尖部の形成に使用した最も太いファイルをマスターアピカルファイル(MAF)という[17]。
- ^ 医学用語で「転帰」とは、治療行為後における症状の経過や結果をさす[29]。
- ^ 根管治療中に起こることがある、急性根尖性歯周炎のこと[50]。歯肉の炎症が燃え上がる(flare-up)ような症状のためこう呼ばれる。
