【徹甲榴弾】(てっこうりゅうだん)
Armor Piercing High Explosive (APHE)
徹甲弾の弾頭に比較的少量の爆薬を搭載し、装甲や障害物に突き刺さってから炸裂する弾丸。
分類上は別物だが、貫通時に発火する劣化ウラン弾、地表を貫通して地下の目標を爆撃するバンカーバスターも一種の徹甲榴弾と言える。
一般に弾丸の破壊力は貫通しない場合の方が大きく、徹甲弾が貫通した際の小さな弾痕は目標のバイタルパートに直撃しないと十分な有効打を与えない場合がある。
徹甲榴弾はそのような状況を想定して配備され、目標を貫徹しきらず途中で失速する程度に貫通性能を落とし、または目標を貫いて通過する直前に弾頭を炸裂させる事で通常の徹甲弾より大きな被害を期待するものである。
現代では成形炸薬弾の発明によって対戦車兵器としての有用性を大幅に減じており、主に対物ライフルや対空機関砲など多くの命中弾を期待できない状況で使用される。

徹甲弾（てっこうだん、英語: armor-piercing shot and shell）は、装甲を貫通させるために設計された砲弾である。艦砲・戦車砲・航空機関砲等で用いられる。弾体の硬度と質量を大きくして装甲を貫くタイプ（AP, APHE）と、逆に弾体を軽くして速度を高めて運動エネルギーで貫くタイプ（HVAP, APDS, APFSDS）が存在するが、本項では主に前者について述べる。
