右翼

右翼（うよく、英：right-wing, rightist, the Right）または右派（うは）とは、保守的、国粋主義的な思想の傾向を指す[1]。一般に、伝統的な社会秩序や価値の維持や、伝統的に形成された社会的地位や身分などの社会的成層への支持を表すために使われる[2][3][4][5][6]。類義語には「保守」や「旧守」など、対義語には「左翼」や「革新」などがある。また「右派」や「左派」は、各集団や勢力の内部で、更に相対的に「右」「左」を示す場合にも使用されている。
「左翼」も「右翼」も相対的な用語であり、何を「左翼」や「右翼」と呼ぶかは時代・国・視点などによって変化する。また「右翼」と呼ばれる思想・運動にも多種多様な主義主張が含まれる。更にレッテル貼り的に使われる場合も多い。
「右翼」と「左翼」の語はフランス革命の間に作り出された。「右翼」は、国民議会で旧体制の維持を支持する勢力（王党派、貴族派、国教派など）が議長席から見て右側の席を占めた事に由来する[7][8][9]。
現在、「右翼」という用語は主に、保守主義者、反動主義者[10]を含む、伝統的な右翼と歴史的な関係がある政治勢力を示す用語として使われている。また、「左派」が共産主義や社会主義をめざす勢力を指すのに対して、右派（右翼）は、左派勢力に反対して自由市場の資本主義を擁護する勢力（リバタリアニズムや新自由主義など）や、国家主義・民族主義・国粋主義を支持する勢力を指すために使われている。
