外貨資産を引き揚げて自国内での資産に移したり、自国通貨に換金したりすること。

リパトリエーションは、自国内での資産減少によって外貨資産の運用が困難になった場合の資金調達や、戦争や自然災害などの有事が発生した場合の資金の引き揚げなどに因るところが多いとされる。

リパトリエーションでは自国通貨の買いが生じる。日本においては円買いが生じ、円高要因の1つになることもある。
