ボーア人（ボーアじん アフリカーンス語: Boere, 英:Boers）は、17世紀から19世紀の南部アフリカにあったケープ植民地の東境でオランダ語を話していた喜望峰開拓者 (Free Burghers) の子孫[2]であり、ブール人やブーア人とも言う[3]。この名称は、オランダ語およびアフリカーンス語で「農民」を意味する単語"boer"に由来する[4]。

- ^ その理由は、主にケープ植民地とイギリス間で1833年奴隷廃止法の際に導入された、英語を第一言語とする新たなコモン・ロー制度だとされる[5][6]。
