バイオミメティクス（英: biomimetics）とは、「生物の構造や機能、生産プロセスを観察、分析し、そこから着想を得て新しい技術の開発や物造りに活かす科学技術」の意[1]。用語としては、1950年代にアメリカ合衆国の神経生理学者オットー・シュミットが初めて使用した[1]。
