ニヴフ語

ニヴフ語（ニヴフご）又はギリヤーク語[4](時にNivkhic、自称: Нивхгу диф Nivxgu Dif [ɲivxɡu dif])は、外満洲、アムグン川（アムール川支流）流域、アムール川（黒竜江）下流域、樺太北部に住むニヴフ民族固有の、互いに理解できない2つか3つの言語からなる小さな語族で、しばしば孤立した言語とされる[5][6]。アムール語族 (Amuric)[7]という呼称もある。便宜上古アジア諸語に含まれる。ギリヤーク「Gilyak」とは、Tungusicの「Gileke」とManchu-Chineseの「Gilemi」（Gilyami）[要出典]から派生した、アムール川（黒竜江）地域の文化的に類似した人々を指すロシア語の表現であり、主に西洋文学でニヴフを指して使われた[8]。

アムール川下流域から樺太に住むニヴフ人の言語。孤立した言語（下位方言を個別言語とみなす場合は小さな語族）であり、アイヌ語や朝鮮語、日本語などとの関係が議論されているが系統未証｡チュクチ・カムチャツカ語族との関係を考える人もいる。

ニヴフ語は、アムール川流域から樺太を通じて蝦夷地でも使用されていたとされるニヴフ族の言語で、文字は持たない。現在日本にニヴフ語の話者がいるかは不明である。
