ソト族

ソト族(Sotho、Basotho、Basuto)は、5世紀頃からアフリカ南部に住むバントゥー系民族。ソトの国はモショエショエ1世が19世紀初頭にアフリカ南部に分散していたソト・ツワナ族の氏族を集めた事で生まれた。今日多くのソト族は南アフリカに住んでおり、オレンジ自由国の領域は元々モショエショエの国(今のレソト)だった。
