クラック‐デ‐シュバリエ【Crac des Chevaliers】

読み方：くらっくでしゅばりえ

《「騎士の城」の意》シリア北西部にある十字軍時代の城塞。11世紀の創建で、12世紀に聖ヨハネ騎士団の所有となった際、大規模な増改築が行われた。2006年、カル‐エッサラー‐エル‐ディン（サラディン城）とともに「クラック‐デ‐シュバリエとカル‐エッサラー‐エル‐ディン」として世界遺産（文化遺産）に登録。2013年、国内騒乱による破壊などが理由で危機遺産に登録された。シュバリエ城。

クラック・デ・シュヴァリエ（フランス語: Krak des Chevaliers〈Crac des Chevaliers〉; フランス語発音: [kʁak de ʃ(ə)valje]、カラート・アル＝ホスン、アラビア語: ^[2]قلعة الحصن‎, ラテン文字転写: Qalaʿat al-Hosn^[3]、Qalʿat al-Ḥuṣn〈al-Ḥiṣn〉^[4]）は^[5]、シリアに築かれた十字軍時代^{[注 2]}の代表的な城であり、当時の築城技術の粋を究めた城郭として評価されている^[8]^[9]。1144年から1271年まで、聖ヨハネ騎士団の拠点として使用された。

^ 世界遺産リスト登録名称では Crac の綴り字を用いる。
^ 「十字軍」の呼称は、13世紀中頃以降になって初めて認められる言葉であり、当時は「フランク（フランク人）」軍の戦争とされた^[6]^[7]。
