遺伝学においてオペロン（英: operon）とはDNAの機能的単位の1つであり、単一のプロモーターの制御下に置かれている遺伝子のセットを単位とする[1]。同じオペロンに含まれる遺伝子はともにmRNAへと転写され、細胞質でともに翻訳されるか、もしくはスプライシングによってモノシストロンのmRNAが形成されて個別に翻訳される。そのため、同じオペロンに含まれる遺伝子はともに発現するか全く発現しないかのいずれかである。
