アメリカ連合国

アメリカ連合国（アメリカれんごうこく、英語: Confederate States of America, 略号：CSA）は、1861年から1865年まで存在した北米の未承認共和国である[1][2][3]。1861年に分離独立を宣言してから、南北戦争でアメリカ合衆国と争ったが、1865年に降伏してアメリカ合衆国に再び併合された。

- ^ その法案に反対した議員の一人は「黒人が我々（白人）と同じように戦えると言うのであれば我々は何のために戦っているのか！」と言っている。黒人は白人より人種的に劣っているから奴隷にしても問題ない（と言うよりその方が黒人にとって幸せである）という南部の大前提が崩れてしまうからである。
- ^ 北部の方では終戦までに18万から20万もの黒人が北軍に入隊しており、一部の部隊は重要な戦闘にも参戦している。最初はそれぞれの州や将軍が独自に編成していたものだったが、数が増えてきたので1863年の5月22日に有色人種将兵局 (Bureau of Colored Troops) が新たに設置されている。
