りょうけん座ベータ星（Beta Canum Venaticorum, 略称 β CVn）は黄色のG型主系列星であり、りょうけん座の2番目に明るい恒星である。 一番明るいコル・カロリ (α CVn) の側にあり、このペアを「南の犬」と呼びりょうけん座を意味する。
別名の「カーラ」(Chara) は元来「南の犬」に与えられた名であるが、後にりょうけん座ベータ星を意味するようになった。カーラはギリシャ語では「かわいい者、親愛なる者」を意味する[6]。
